Our Team

Edmina Bradshaw

Edmina Bradshaw

Principal

Dr. Edmina Bradshaw is an Action Learning Master Coach and nonprofit sector consultant. with a focus on Strategy, Research, Program Development and Evaluation. With more than 25 years of multinational experience, she has a comprehensive background in effectively managing complex and intensive projects, and in multi-site initiatives.

Dr. Bradshaw developed the model and spearheads the ongoing research for Self Directed Volunteer Teams(SDV Teams). This model and its accompanying curriculum has had encouraging uptake in the nonprofit sector as a strategy for engaging and empowering volunteers in addressing issues in their communities. Voluntary sector interest in the SDVT model has resulted in numerous conference presentations, collaborations and speaking engagements in the US and beyond.

Dr. Bradshaw’s doctorate is in Human and Organizational Studies from The George Washington University. Dr. Bradshaw also holds an MBA in Insurance and Risk Management from the College of Insurance (St. John’s University) in New York and a MA in Human Resource Management.

Dr. Bradshaw is a CrossFit athlete, enjoys the outdoors and has used her expeditionary adventures to mentor young adults and to raise funds for children’s education across the world.

Christine Beatty

Christine Beatty

Facilitator & Senior Advisor

Christine Beatty is a consultant, spokesperson and trainer focused on older adult issues, senior center management and civic engagement success. In a career spanning 45 years, she has served as CEO of nonprofit organizations; director of the Madison (WI) Senior Center; and as administrator of City grants for senior social services.

She is a national leader, who has served on the National Council on Aging (NCOA) Board and as National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) Chairperson. She is credited as a founder of the national senior center accreditation program and has served with it as a trainer and peer reviewer for over 30 years.

Currently, she serves as Chairperson of the NISC Accreditation Board. She also contributes as a volunteer locally and as Chairperson of SERVE WI, a state AmeriCorps commission. She keeps her mind and body active by volunteering, working occasionally, exercising most weekdays and training a very stubborn mini-schnauzer.

Terry Kaelber

Terry Kaelber

Terry Kaelber is the founding director of The Institute for Empowered Aging at United Neighborhood Houses [UNH], which in 2021 won The Eisner Prize for demonstrating ‘excellence in uniting multiple generations for the enrichment of our country.”  Previously, Terry directed New York’s participation in a national initiative to demonstrate the impact older people can have to drive change and strengthen communities implementing the Self Directed Volunteer Team model.  In partnership with NYC’s Department for the Aging, this work has continued to expand and now reaches 24 communities, where older people have been mobilized into Self-Directed Volunteer Teams to create new urban farms, address poor mail delivery in public housing, launch afterschool programming for area youth, and lead other efforts that build communities where all ages can thrive. In 2022, Terry was named one of the “50 over 50: The Age Disrupters”, recognizing New York’s most prominent leaders in government, business, and media over the age of 50.

Prior to working at UNH, Terry was the Executive Director of SAGE – Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders; and a recipient of the SHARE Award for Innovations in Aging from the University of Pennsylvania.  Terry holds an MPA from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School.

 Kylah Martin

Kylah Martin

Operations Manager

Kylah Martin’s background includes work as an Associate Director of Institutional Assessment in higher education and as a Human Resource Generalist and Consultant for a management consulting and outsourcing company. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Master of Science in Community and International Development, and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation.

Kylah brings to SDV Network her passions for people, progress, and proficiency. Her work experience reflects a personal commitment to continual growth and an innate desire to see the same in individuals organizations, and their communities.
